Moss Control in Lawns

Over the last few years our seasons have become wetter and warmer. This change in weather has promoted a huge increase in the amount of moss that appears in our lawns.

Moss in your lawn is due to a number of factors. Waterlogged lawns especially promote it’s growth. Poorly drained soil will provide the ideal growing conditions for moss. once it begins to take hold then it can soon over run the grass and suffocate it. Thick moss will in turn hold on to water like a sponge thus exasperating the problem. Compacted lawns will create an ideal environment for water to settle and moss to start to grow. Lawns that are lacking in any form of nutrients will be weak and will so be smothered by moss.

Here at Cheshire Lawn Doctor we have years of experience of treating lawns and removing moss. We get to the cause of the problem, mainly poorly aerated lawns and those that are low in nutrients. With a combination of tried and tested seasonal treatments, scarification and aeration we are able to give the grass the ideal conditions to thrive and thus giving you a green, lush lawn that you can enjoy. Plus it will be easier to mow!!!

If your lawn is suffering from moss then give us a call or email to discuss the problem. Don’t leave it too long as the problem will only get worse.
